Do What's Right

The most significant sports championship in Indiana in recent decades was when the Indianapolis Colts, led by Coach Tony Dungy, won the Super Bowl in 2007. Coach Dungy explained that he was most proud to have won the Super bowl the “right way.” The coaches didn’t need to yell and curse at their players, cheat, or work so much that they sacrificed their families to be successful. At Hageman, we also work to win and be successful, but we only want to do it the “right way” for the benefit of not just our bottom line, but for the betterment of our clients, partners, associates, and the communities where we do business.

Enjoy Life

Many companies promote the idea of work-life balance, but in my 15 years of experience, no one has lived it more than Hageman. While we all work hard to achieve our goals, the team at Hageman also recognizes the importance of “enjoying life.” Whether it’s sharing stories at a “Good News Friday,” attending a company cook-out or simply making a conscious effort not to email someone on their vacation, the people at Hageman truly live this value.

Leave It Better Than We Found It

At Hageman, I enjoy being able to lead a complex project from concept to reality. I enjoy watching vision and aspirations become new buildings rising out of the ground. Perhaps more than anything though, I enjoy watching how our projects positively impact the communities in which we do business. At Hageman, we intentionally seek out transformative projects because we believe we have an obligation to use our talent and our capital to improve the world around us. We want to leave it better than we found it.

Be a Team Player

I’ve been fortunate to have experienced being on some good team environments in both my personal and professional life, and the teamwork environment at Hageman is really special. At Hageman Group, no one is above any job and it is more important for the team to succeed than for any individual to shine. I’m proud to say that being a Team Player is a value I see consistently lived throughout the organization.

Do What's Right

I’m excited about where we’ve been and more excited about where we are going at Hageman. Our values are clear, simple, and I fully support each of them. I could tell stories about how the whole organization has embodied each of our core values, but maybe most importantly, we’ve been through multiple situations where we could have done what’s easy or what could boost short term profit, but without fail we’ve had tough conversations and continually chosen to “Do What’s Right.” Because we strive to never miss on this, attaining the other values easily follow suit.
